SOCIABILITY

Sociability is a sex-ed, friendship and relationship program for adults with learning disabilities, psychosocial disabilities and/or autism.
We help people improve their overall health and well-being by delivering a program that is delivered in a safe, fun, and interactive format.

DID YOU KNOW

Statistics show that around 50% of people with a wide range of disabilities feel isolated, and one in five say they do not have any friends, which can have serious consequences on both their mental and physical health. SOCIABILITY commits to trying to change that by bringing in as many people with learning & psychosocial disabilities together throughout the year, helping them make friends, be part of a community and have more choices in life.

Sociability will help you get out and about and try new things and visit different places. It will give you the chance to meet new people, make friends and develop relationships if you choose.

The Program

Our Services

This program has been designed to be delivered in a safe, fun and interactive format. We welcome everyone regardless of Sexual Identity or Preference We have worked hard to deliver a program that is inclusive and sensitive but also a bit of fun.

Face to face activities

We believe that connections are best made out in the community. therefore the sociability program encompasses a range of carefully crafted activities, which include walking, bowling, sporting activities.

Workshops

Complimenting the ‘Face-to-face activities’ are the custom educational workshops that include information on staying safe, breaking barriers, intimacy, communication and online safety, as well as some fun events such as yoga and dance.

Sociability Online

This is part of the SOCIABILITY service and will allow you the opportunity to access an exciting range of national virtual events, giving you the chance to meet new people and make friends across the Australia.

Sex Education

Using a range of evidence-based literature and experts in the field, SOCIABILITY has developed a sex-ed program that focuses on love, safer sex, abstinence, respect for others and oneself, diversity, personal rights and responsibilities.

How Much Does it cost?

The cost for the 8-week program is $2,200 and includes all activities undertaken during the Face-to-Face Activities and breakfast &/or lunch during the Workshop Sessions. Depending on the NDIS goals, participants can fund the program’s cost through Capacity Building, Core or Innovative Community Participation.
