The first step of our unique approach involves dedicated allied health practitioners. They work closely with each participant to craft a personalised meal plan that takes into consideration individual dietary needs, preferences, and health goals. This tailored approach ensures participants not only receive nutritious meal plans but also learn the importance of balanced and mindful eating.
GROCERY SHOPPING :
Next, we guide participants through the process of grocery shopping. This step is designed to be more than a routine errand - it's an immersive learning experience. We educate our participants on selecting fresh, nutritious ingredients while staying within a budget. The knowledge gained from this activity provides participants with the practical skills needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle independently.
COOKING WITH A PROFESSIONAL :
The heart of our Kitchen Crew program is the cooking experience led by a professional cook. This shared culinary adventure allows participants to learn essential cooking skills, and understanding the techniques and processes involved in creating wholesome, homemade meals. It's not merely about following recipes but grasping the science, art, and joy of cooking.

Why Choose The Kitchen Crew
Our journey begins with an in-depth consultation by an experienced allied health practitioner. They work closely with each participant to understand their dietary needs and preferences, and create a tailored meal plan that ensures a balanced, nutritious diet.
Next, our professional chefs or cooks visit the participant's home. They conduct an inventory of available ingredients and use these to prepare customized meals according to the personalized meal plan. Their culinary expertise shines as they whip up healthy and delicious dishes right in the participant's kitchen.
In instances where essential ingredients are lacking, our dedicated support workers step in. Together with the participants, they visit local food pantries or grocery stores to source necessary groceries, turning each shopping trip into an educational excursion about healthy and economical food choices.
Our chefs or cooks then collaborate with the participants to prepare meals, offering hands-on cooking lessons in the process. Participants learn valuable culinary skills, preparing them to replicate the dishes in the future. Meals for immediate consumption and for future use (stored in freezers) are prepared, ensuring food availability at all times.
To further build capacity and instil confidence in meal preparation, we also conduct group cooking sessions. These sessions not only provide an opportunity to learn and prepare meals collectively, but they also foster a sense of community among participants. Open to individuals aged 16 to 80, these sessions serve as a platform for participants to learn, share, and enjoy the process of meal preparation together, further enhancing their ability to replicate the process independently at home.
